Welcome to Whippoorwill Hill
Where the rolling hills of La Crosse County meet the quiet beauty of the Black River backwaters, Whippoorwill Hill is a place to slow down, wander a little, and reconnect with nature.
Our farm is home to a small fold of Highland cattle and herd of alpacas. Our Highlands play an important role in helping us care for the land, naturally clearing brush as we work to restore native oak savanna and wildflower prairie. The alpacas bring their own gentle curiosity to the farm and are part of the experiences we share with our guests.
It is a peaceful place for animals and people alike, with room to roam, explore, and simply enjoy being outside.
Whether you’re here to spend time with our animals, stay among nature in the Glas Kabin, or simply slow down for a while, we’re honored to share this special place with you.

The Glas Kabin
Stay a little closer to nature.
Perched among the rolling hills of Whippoorwill Hill, the Glas Kabin was designed to make the outdoors feel like part of your stay. Expansive walls of glass surround you with views of the countryside, nearby Queen’s Bluff, and sunsets stretching across the western sky.
Wake slowly with the landscape just beyond the glass. Watch the light change across the hills, listen to the sounds of the farm and surrounding woods, and end the day with a front-row seat to the sunset.
Thoughtfully designed for two, the Glas Kabin is a quiet retreat from the everyday. A place to unplug, settle in, and simply enjoy being surrounded by nature.
